AU — . A male, Australian writer who self-identifies as a black lesbian has declared on his verified Twitter account that “kill all TERFs has the same energy as kill all Nazis.” Women who acknowledge that there are two biological sexes and that humans cannot change sex are often labeled ‘TERFs’.
Claire G. Coleman’s February 11 tweet came in response to a woman who linked to the TERF is a Slur website while politely explaining that the word ‘TERF’ is often accompanied by anti-women vitriol, such as calls for women who critique gender identity ideology to be punched out or murdered.
A later tweet by Mr Coleman shows him labeling a mother an “extremist TERF” and “nutcase extremist” attempting to “browbeat and spam politicians into submission to remove trans people’s rights.” The abuse was a response to the mother’s revelation that she emails politicians, council members and other government officials to explain how gender identity policies affect women and girls.
During the same discussion, Mr Coleman asked a woman whose Twitter bio defines women as “adult human female”: “Have you considered that you are a woman hater who is willing to pander to misogynistic definitions of ‘woman’ just to harm trans women?”
Mr Coleman insisted that “forcing trans women to use men’s toilets is doing trans women harm.”
There is not a single incident on record anywhere in the world of an individual who identifies as a trans woman being physically or sexually attacked while using public toilet facilities for men.
Mr Coleman told another tweeter that the UK is “TERF island […] an island where a tiny bubble of high profile TERFs make the world think the TERF movement is huge and powerful.”
Many tweeters accused Mr Coleman of demonstrating hatred for women through his tweets, and disrespecting the LGB community by repeatedly referring to himself as a “lesbian.”
Mr Coleman then suggested that as a “blak lesbian,” he does not have the power to discriminate against most demographics. “That’s the great thing about being a blak lesbian,” he countered critics. “Pretty much every time I punch, it’s up.”
He additionally insisted that he is “open-minded” and does not “hate anybody.”
ACTION
Those who oppose Mr Coleman’s statement equating women who do not believe in gender identity theory with “Nazis” and suggests killing such women is no less bad are directly challenging Ultimo Press, the publisher for Mr Coleman’s books.
