Trans Activists Smear Author of ‘Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality’

UK — . on July 15, 2021 Helen Joyce’s book Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality was published in the United Kingdom. Receiving critical acclaim from numerous publications and readers, the book has quickly risen up bestseller lists, including in the United States, where it has not been released yet.

However, it wasn’t long before trans activists started accusing Joyce of claiming that transgenderism is a conspiracy funded by “shadowy” Jewish billionaires.

Anti-Semitism allegations were extended to others who tweeted in support of the book, including David Baddiel, author of Jews Don’t Count, a book about how people ignore the history of anti-Semitism, and Times Columnist David Aaronovitch.

In her book, Joyce cites three billionaires, two of whom are Jewish, who have funded various transactivist activities. This apparently is all that is needed for trans activists to declare that Joyce is promoting “a global Big Pharma conspiracy funded by Jewish billionaires”.

Upon learning of these smears to her character, Joyce tweeted that she would consider legal action against those who did not delete their tweets.

Feminists pointed out that these kinds of smear campaigns are commonly used against feminists, and are sadly predictable.

Some activists deleted their original tweets, but continue to smear feminists, though now without directly referencing Joyce’s book.
